Duale to Uhuru: You lied to Raila you’ll hand him presidency

Garissa Township MP-elect Aden Duale has claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta is going through power withdrawal symptoms.

In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Duale said Uhuru’s remarks that he will recognize Azimio leader Raila Odinga as his president was a way of soothing his ego.

He claimed that Uhuru had lied to Raila that he will help him win the top executive seat by all means including using “deep state”.

“It’s baffling that Uhuru conned Raila that he will deliver Mt. Kenya votes and would deploy the deep state to overturn the will of the people. It’s perplexing that he now refers to the 5th time loser as his leader to soothe his ego and perpetuate hopeless optimism,” Duale said.

“Understandably, the outgoing president is undergoing excruciating power withdrawal symptoms and is now on a crucial stage of grief,” he added.

Duale claimed Uhuru had knowingly made his path into the opposition when he allegedly paid Raila to swear himself in as the People’s President in 2018.

The former majority leader further claimed that Uhuru had done so in a bid to invite Raila into his government, shoving off his DP.

“In 2022, he consorted and went to bed with opposition leader and resoundingly rejected by Kenyans into opposition,” he said.

Duale said Kenyans have moved on and accepted Ruto as the next President.

“Kenyans have moved on and are breathing the fresh air of liberation and are about to be economically emancipated.”

Speaking at Maasai Lodge during a meeting with Azimio parliamentary group leaders on Wednesday, Uhuru said he will hand over power to Ruto but said Raila remains his leader.

“…I will hand over power smiling because it’s my Constitutional duty to do so, but my leader is Baba Raila Odinga,” Uhuru said.
