The United States Embassy in the country has raised the alarm over a possible terror attack in Kenya.
The embassy also warned that terrorists could strike with minimal notice. Potential targets include busy hotels, embassies, malls, schools, and other areas highly frequented by tourists.
The embassy stated that concerns about terror attacks typically increase around the anniversaries of previous attacks.
Examples of such incidents include the September 11 attacks, the September 21 Westgate Mall attack, and the October 7 Hamas attack against Israel.
United States citizens were advised to stay informed through local media, avoid protest areas and large crowds, and maintain a low profile to ensure their safety.
This is not the first time the US Embassy has issued a security alert to its citizens in the country.
