EDDAH: The body of a Saudi man weighing 220 kg had to be buried using a crane, following a request by his family members in Khamis Mushait on Sunday.

Naif Al-Doura died due to complications arising out of obesity on Saturday, local media said. His family sought the help of Saudi Red Crescent and Civil Defense when they found it impossible to inter his body.

Aouda Al-Doura, Naif’s uncle, said: “We faced problems to bury his body due to the weight and size, following which help was sought and the Red Crescent and the Civil Defense cooperated with us.”

Naif’s mother, brother and two sisters also suffer from obesity and kidney problems. The family appealed to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to help them receive treatment, the media said.
