ADDIS ABABA, Ghazi Abdullah Salem Al Mehri, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Ethiopia, has met with Hirut Zemene, State Minister for Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, Al Mehri and Zemene discussed means of developing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, focusing on the trade and investment sectors, as well as political issues of mutual interest.
The two sides also considered arrangements to hold the second session of the joint ministerial committee for cooperation between the two countries, which is expected to take place before the end of this year in Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa.
Other issues of importance were also weighed upon, including the possibility of facilitating the issuance of visas upon arrival for UAE nationals in Ethiopia for tourism and investment.
The UAE Ambassador and Ethiopian Foreign Minister also discussed Ethiopia’s support and nomination of the UAE concerning its membership of the International Maritime Organisation Executive Council. They also reviewed the latest regional developments, especially in South Sudan.
Ms. Zemene emphasised Ethiopia’s interest and keenness to further develop cooperative relations with the UAE to achieve common interests and objectives of the two states.
