ADDIS ABABA, Ambassador of the UAE to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU), Youssef Hussain Al Saberi, has met with President of AU Staff Association, Salah Hammad, to discuss plans by the UAE to build a multi-purpose centre at the AU’s headquarters in the Ethiopian capital.

The UAE Centre at AU will consist of a multi-purpose hall, a garden and other facilities.

Ambassador Al Saberi noted that the UAE’s initiative to build the centre is aimed at consolidating relations with the African Union, in particular, and African countries in general.

The AU official commended the UAE’s initiative and expressed full cooperation on the effort.

Kuwait is planning to build a medical centre at AU’s headquarters. Germany built the headquarters of AU’s Peace and Security Council, while China built the headquarters of AU, one of Addis Ababa landmarks.
