KUWAIT CITY, An Ethiopian housemaid tried to commit suicide in her sponsor’s residence by hanging herself from the ceiling of her room with an electrical cable, reports Al-Rai daily. Securitymen from Abdullah Al- Mubarak Police Station foiled the suicide attempt and rushed her to Farwaniya Hospital for treatment. The sponsor claimed ignorance of reasons that could have led his housemaid into committing such an act. The police have registered the incident for legal procedures.

Indian worker dies: An Indian construction worker in his 30s died when some construction stones fell on his head at a construction site in Hawally area, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. According to the testimony of one of his colleagues, the victim was working with other laborers at the ground floor of the building under construction when some stones fell from the forklift on top of the building. Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location after receiving information about the accident. Paramedics referred the corpse to the Forensics Department while securitymen registered a case for investigations. Meanwhile, a Bangladeshi expatriate died while his compatriot sustained injuries when a pipe exploded in an open sandy area opposite a private transport company at East Ahmadi where the duo worked, reports Al- Watan Arabic daily. Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location after receiving information about the incident. Paramedics referred the injured man to the nearest hospital while the corpse of the deceased was referred to the Forensics Department. Several senior officials were present at the location to follow up the situation. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the mystery behind the incident. Also, a South Korean expatriate died instantly when a motorist knocked him down on a road in Abdullah Al-Mubarak Area, reports Al-Rai daily. According to security sources, rescue officers and paramedics were unable to resuscitate the man because he had already died before their arrival at the location. Paramedics referred the corpse to the Forensics Department while the motorist willingly handed himself over to the police.

Meanwhile, a 27-year old Bedoun man was found dead inside the parking lot of a school in Bayan area due to drug overdose, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. According to security sources, a resident of the area who noticed the unconscious individual inside the vehicle in the parking area informed the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior after which Hawally securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location. However, they found him already dead upon arrival. They reported the incident to Hawally Detective Chief Colonel Abdulrahman Al-Suhail and his deputy Lt Colonel Waleed Al-Fadhel, who ordered Bayan detectives led by Major Abdul-Aziz Al-Mutawa and Captain Omar Al-Hassawi to handle the investigation. They referred the corpse to Forensics department for autopsy, while the police have registered the incident for investigation.
