Tropical depression develops into storm, gets a name

Muscat- The tropical depression which is moving towards Somalia coast and towards the centre of the Arabian Sea had developed into a tropical storm, according to Oman’s Public Authority for Civil Aviation.

In a statement PACA also announced that the storm has been officially named Pawan.

“The deep tropical depression centered southwest of the Arabian Sea is developed into a tropical storm. It is named Pavan, with wind speeds around the center 34-40 knots. It is still heading towards the Somalia coasts with the flow of clouds on the coasts of Arabian sea which may lead to sporadic rainfall.”
