The Strategic Plan of the N&N leaders of the SOMALIA’S Federal Government on General Election 2020 is not worth the thought spent on those illusionary and hallucinating efforts on it on the part of President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo and Prime Hassan Ali Khayre, following the latest political developments in Jubaland today.
The shell-shock in villa Somalia could be gauged by the thoughtless appointment today of known warlord, Omar Finish, to head the Capital City, to replace deceased Eng Yariisow as the Mayor. Security Sector reshuffle today is also an indication of desperate measures and being out of touch with reality.
By many indications, N&N Regime seems to be unraveling. The concept of Somali Federalism is fighting back. And with the re-insurgence of extremists in Mogadishu in a new wave of terrorism, the days of N&N Administration look numbered.
Somalia’s South-Central politicians and “Somalia’s foreign partners” still didn’t get that Mogadishu can’t be reformed. It requires surgical and radical approach, consistent with the advice of Niccolo Machiavelli to Venetian Prince that a “corrupt city cannot be reformed”
The only feasible alternative and the way forward now is for all Federal Member States, the FGS and international Community to come to a round table to deliberate on moving this country onward. Any other sidetracking issues, from now on, are futile exercises.
