Prime Minister Hamse Arrives in Las Anod to Strengthen Somali Unity and Territorial Integrity

Mogadishu (WDN): The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Hamse Abdi Barre, along with a high-level delegation, has arrived in Las Anod, the capital of the SSC-Khaatumo Administration. His visit marks a significant step in fostering national unity and reinforcing the Federal Government of Somalia’s support for the SSC-Khaatumo Administration and Somalia’s territorial integrity.

Prime Minister Hamse and his delegation received a warm and enthusiastic welcome upon their arrival. Welcoming them were the President of the SSC-Khaatumo Administration, Mr. Abdiqadir Ahmed Aw-Ali (Firdhiye), senior officials from both the Federal Government and the SSC-Khaatumo Administration, as well as large crowds of residents from Las Anod who gathered to show their support.

The primary purpose of the Prime Minister’s visit is to express solidarity with the SSC-Khaatumo Administration and to underscore the Federal Government’s commitment to a united and inclusive Somali state. During their stay in Las Anod, the Prime Minister and his delegation are scheduled to hold a series of meetings with the leadership of the SSC-Khaatumo Administration, community leaders, traditional elders, civil society representatives and youth groups.

These engagements will focus on addressing local concerns, and exploring avenues for economic development and infrastructure support in the region. Key issues on the agenda include governance, security, social services, and federal support in development projects aimed at improving the livelihoods of the people in SSC-Khaatumo.

This historic visit comes at a pivotal moment, as Somaliland intensifies its campaign for international recognition as an independent state. The Prime Minister’s visit is widely seen as a significant milestone in promoting Somali unity, advancing state-building efforts, and ensuring equitable development across all regions of the country.
