Bossaso (WDN) – In a moment hailed as a triumph for peace and stability, the Puntland government has celebrated a decisive victory over ISIS militants, declaring their forces have overrun key terrorist positions in Miraale and calling on the last remaining fugitives to surrender peacefully.
The operation, which unfolded over recent days, is being described as one of the most significant blows dealt to ISIS in the region in years. With morale high among troops and local communities celebrating, the commander expressed confidence that the final chapter of the group’s presence in Puntland was now being written.
Lieutenant Colonel Farah Ahmed Farah, famously known as Farah Laba-dhalo, commander of the elite 14th Dhiirrane Battalion of the Puntland Darawish Forces, announced the breakthrough with visible pride, saying their hard-fought operation had left ISIS fighters in total disarray.
“We waged a tough battle by land and air, and by the grace of God, we have reclaimed Miraale. The enemy’s bodies lie scattered across the battlefield,” said Commander Farah, speaking from the front lines. “This is a day of victory for the people of Puntland. I call upon the few surviving ISIS fugitives to surrender immediately—while the sun still shines.”
“We will not rest until the last terrorist has either surrendered or been brought to justice,” Farah declared. “But today, we celebrate. Today, Puntland stands stronger, safer, and victorious.”
