Kismayo (WDN) — Reports from Ceel-waaq, a district in the Gedo region, confirm that a deadly explosion has occurred, resulting in multiple casualties.

According to local sources, an improvised explosive device (IED), planted underground and triggered by pressure, struck a motorcycle used for transporting logistics for the Somali National Army (SNA) and Jubaland forces.

The explosion killed two soldiers who were on the motorcycle, as well as the civilian driver, as confirmed by the District’s Head of Social Affairs.

When asked by the media about the exact location of the blast, the official stated that it occurred approximately 40 meters outside a military camp. He added that the overall security situation in Ceel-waaq remains stable, noting that such attacks occur occasionally, as the enemy frequently shifts its tactics.
