Ethiopian Forces Launch Heavy Attack on Somali Government Base in Doolow

DOOLOW (WDN)– Reports from the Gedo region indicate that Ethiopian forces launched a heavy assault on Somali government Intelligence Service base in the town of Doolow.

This direct military engagement by Ethiopia comes at a time when Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and the head of NISA, Mahad Salad, are currently in Addis Ababa meeting with their Ethiopian counterparts.

The Ethiopian troops specifically targeted the commander of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) in Doolow, attacking the NISA headquarters in the town.

NISA forces defended their commander, and the fighting resulted in casualties, including both deaths and injuries.

Sources report that Ethiopian forces have surrounded the NISA compound, though their intentions remain unclear. The Somali government has yet to issue an official statement regarding the Ethiopian incursion.
